RED
For my first ever play with fabric, I decided to start by using my own body. I wanted to feel the power that fabric brings on my self so I set my camera to a self timer and had some fun with a pedestal I found in the basement of my building here in LA.
BLUE
I had so much fun with red, I decided to give it another go with my favorite primary color. For my second go around with fabric I decided to add some dimension with a hard shape. I chose a circle purely at random but I couldn't have been happier with my choice. Some friends and I made a party out of the day. I'm super grateful to anyone who joins me in the crazy of my creativity.

I hand som much fun playing with the free flow of fabric the first time, however. I decided to take blue outside and see what shapes I could make in the wind.
The beach is such a spiritual place. I built a shelter or them and asked my friends to flow with the winds and waves. To think of themselves as the first humans, where every move they made was perfect and mistakes weren't possible. These are some of the images we made together.

Blue was an immense period of inspiration for me. So much so I decided to finally make a wearable piece. My first androgynous design: "A blue blazer with a cropped wing."
Afterwards seeing it come to life, I finally decided to start pinning fabric to my mannequin.
Orange
Creating a dress with a circle was such an interesting and eye opening experience; I absolutely needed to try it again. This time I wanted to see how much fun I could have with a more rigid shape. I hate being put in a box BUT I did ask a friend to help me with this one by showing me how much fun she could have with the shape that I put her in.

Besides my cubed dress, and some more pinning with a super interesting material I stumbled across, I decided to build a giant square structure to continue with my play with shapes. My intention was to create something simple that could be scene by passing cars on the highway that blended with nature but added an energetic pop to the landscape.
WOOD
Like many stories, I moved to Los Angeles with nothing but a dream. For a few weeks I was sharing an air mattress in an empty loft with my puppy. I didn't have much to spend on furniture, so I decided to build my new home with my own hands. I had a few ideas for a floating bed and minimalistic doghouse, so I went to Home Depot and got started.
Besides wood shop in high school, I had no previous carpentry experience, but after a lot of sweat, mistakes and man hours, I was able to build a place for my dog and I to sleep.
After feeling that success, I was inspired to make a piece to make my space feel bigger, a giant square mirror the size of my wall that would double the daylight I was receiving. I also decided to put it on wheels for some extra play in the space and for some additional storage space.
Again mistakes were made, but with some perseverance and a few more key choices, I was able to create a space that felt like a beautifully handmade artist workspace, one which I've been able to share with other creatives as well. Dozens of photographers, filmmakers, and artists have shared in this creative space with me.

In an attempt to create a space for myself that felt authentic and unique I unintentionally found my way into set building and interior design.
